Honolulu Port Call

As we come in, at 6:30 am, we see Diamond Head across the way

We are greeted by a traditional fire boat spray

Another view of the fire boat's welcome

Sliding in towards Aloha Tower

Aloha Tower in view

The Fire Boat is still there

The Aloha Tower. Note the time; 6:45 am

The prime dock position awaits us.
The following activity (next 2 images) did NOT take place this year. (Air Security, thanks to 9/11)

If you look VERY CAREFULLY, you can see some spots in the upper portion of the photo. . .

which are flowers drifting down from the helicopter

They land on the deck, on the railings . . .

And now, the paper streamers are headed towards us as well. ALOHA !!

The Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor

This view shows the Arizona's bow, as it lies on the harbor floor

And a stern view . . .

Where the memorial is placed, mid-ships to the Arizona.

As we come along side the Memorial

One of the gun turrets . . .

And other remains

A recollection of December 7, 1941

An oil slick, from the still seeping oil

Looking towards above the remnants of the Arizona toward the USS Missouri, where the Japanese surrender papers were signed.

Entertainment at a luau

Dancing, fire dancing, and more - complete with poi. (Ugh !!)

And of course - Hilo Hattie's - a Hawaiian tradition.

Hilo Hattie's apparel are all made "in house."
